Vote Andrea Andreachuk for Lethbridge School Division Trustee
My name is Andrea Andreachuk and I am happy to put my name forward to run for Public School Trustee.
I am a retired Elementary School Teacher having had the privilege to teach 37 years with the Lethbridge School Division. I enjoyed being a Learning Support Teacher and loved seeing students new to Canada learn how to read. I enjoyed teaching grades one and three and finished my career with 27 years in Kindergarten with all the fun learning and excitement that brings!
Through my teaching career, I learned so much about the diverse needs of children and the importance of involving their parents and caregivers in their education.
My husband Richard and I are proud that our three children received their excellent education through the Lethbridge Public School Division. They have all gone on to be successful teachers. I am a third generation teacher as my mom and grandmother were teachers. Having raised three teachers, it is apparent that education is a passion in our family!
I believe that children learn best when they feel cared for and safe. I would put the needs of children first in every educational decision I make. I would make decisions that acknowledge and respect the diversity of the students in our school division.
I believe in students being knowledgeable and respectful of the rich history and culture of the Indigenous people of Treaty Seven. I support the process of Truth and Reconciliation in our education system.
I believe all students want to and have the ability to succeed in their educational goals, and that excellent resources and adequate support are important for them in reaching their goals.
I believe in supporting our wonderful schools with their dedicated staff, students, parents and caregivers. I would listen to all of our educational stakeholders, teachers, staff, students, administrators, parent councils and members of the community in informing my decisions.
I believe in working collaboratively. I would work with other trustees to make educational decisions that reflect the wants and needs of the community. I would be pleased to bring an early childhood perspective to the decision making process while considering the needs of the Division as a whole.
My vision would be to have all the students in our division become the lifelong learners, creative thinkers and contributing members of society they are destined to be.
I would be privileged to serve as a trustee and I thank you so much for your time and attention.
